§ 13.16.040. Waste disposal fees.

  • A.

    A service fee of twenty-two dollars and forty cents ($22.40) per month per residential unit shall be charged except as described in subsection B of this section.

    B.

    All persons sixty-five (65) years of age and over are exempt from the payment of user fees as described in subsection A of this section.

    C.

    All public and commercial enterprises shall be charged a service fee of twenty-two dollars and forty cents ($22.40) per month for each household equivalent if trash is delivered to the city transfer station or twenty-seven dollars ($27.00)/yard of dumpster capacity if the dumpster is placed at the local place of business.

    D.

    The applicable rates for refuse disposal at the city-owned landfill shall be as appears below, subject to the exceptions and notations contained in this chapter.

    Car loads $12.00/load
    Pickup and van loads 24.00/load
    All other 20.00/yard
    Vehicle (cars and trucks) 60.00/each

     

    E.

    Notwithstanding subsections A and C of this section, the council may declare any or all fees suspended for a specified period of time to encourage a community cleanup campaign.

    F.

    The city manager, with the approval of the city council, shall have the authority to negotiate waste disposal fees outside of the tariff amount when irregular circumstances require an exclusive rate and it is in the city's best interest to do so.
